What is the Peer Support Specialist postition, and what will they be doing at EarthLinks?
EarthLinks is in the process of hiring a Peer Support Specialist through a grant that we received through the Colorado Health Foundation. The Peer Support Specialist has lived experience with homelessness and recovery from trauma, mental health, and/or substance use, and is willing to use this direct knowledge, experience, and insight to support EarthLinks’ Workshop Program participants. This person will use their lived expertise to provide assistance, support, and advocacy for program participants, as well as their care team, to overcome barriers to achieving participant goals related to personal growth and recovery, while engaging in broader efforts to build a community that cares for Earth and others. The position will report to the Program and Garden Director and in partnership with the Program Team is responsible for the delivery of programs and services to the constituency of EarthLinks in a way that is beneficial to the participants and fulfills the mission of EarthLinks.
